We want everyone to feel safe, respected, and at home – no matter your age, background, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language, ability, or dance experience.
Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
Discrimination, harassment, or any form of inappropriate behavior won’t be tolerated.
All dancing and interactions are based on mutual consent – no is always okay.
Dance roles (leader/follower) are not linked to gender – ask your partner what they prefer.
We look out for each other on the dance floor – especially experienced dancers, who adjust their dancing so everyone can feel comfortable and have fun together.
Don’t give unsolicited feedback – unless someone asks for it or something feels painful.
Respect people’s pronouns and personal boundaries.
No aerials on the social dance floor.
Be aware of your surroundings – if you bump into someone, apologize and check in.
Please stay home if you’re sick. Regular handwashing is always a good idea.
Fresh clothes, deodorant, and a towel keep dancing fun for everyone.
Swing dances come from African American culture – we want to be respectful guests in this culture.
